Default HID Headlights anybody?

† † † †
Hi, I just got my new Volt last week and am loving it so far. Just curious about something tho', my old car (a gas guzzling BMW) had one feature that I really liked thatís not available on the Volt, and that's HID headlights. Altho' the factory projector type halogens aren't bad, they still aren't as bright and white as HID xenon headlamps available in most high end cars including a lot of cars in the Volt's price range. In reading thru the eBay Motors section, there are apparently quite a few fairly easy to install aftermarket HID headlights kits that will work on the Volt. they claim that they actually use less electricity than the stock halogens. The prices are reasonable too, from about $30-$80 for the complete kits that are pretty much "plug and play", or so they claim.

Has anybody ever actually installed one of these kits or does anybody have any informed comments as to whether or not they really work and are any good?

I'd really appreciate some feedback. On the other hand, if I don't get any replies, I may just go ahead and invest in a kit, but I'll let y'all know how it turns out.
