OnStar value
My "free" OnStar is getting ready to expire... I don't really see the value in even spending $15 a month let alone more... So I won't be able to use the remote or app to check my charging status, I get that from ChargePoint for free, and I won't be able to remote start?? Ok, that's nice but is there really value in it?? I mean I spend $8 a month for Netflix and that's a value...
What value do you see in it??

On Star - Remote Start>
The remote start still works without OnStar doesen't it?
I thought that was through Chevrolet MyLink and also through key fob - not requiring OnStar services subscription...
I see no value in OnStar especially if you bought the Nav version radio and have a cell phone with tons of data

Seeing as I have never actived my free 3 month onstar, I can tell you the remote start does not function without it.
I need to read the dates lol, didn't realize this was an older post.

I love the OnStar concept.... but not the rates and will not extend the free trial. The one thing that I really want is the navigation. Was surprised that GPS is only through OnStar (was mislead by the dealer rep on that) but with Chevy Link, can bypass but would be using data from del phone. With company phone as of now, not an issue but later on, will be. Besides the Bringgo app, are there any apps or software available to use in 2017 Volt? Or any other app similar to the Bringgo app? You would think that Garmin or other companies would offer something...
