Question Brake Problem and Re-Call Notice

Hello,

I joined tonight because I just discovered that my 2012 Chevy Volt may have a problem with the brakes and traction control system. I really like my Volt, but I have been experiencing braking problems. On November 14, 2012, I rear-ended a Chevy Tahoe SUV while attempting to stop. The SUV, to my surprise, was stopped at a caution cross-walk light. When I noticed, I attempted to stop, but my Volt jumped forward instead of stopping. This cause over $12,000 damage to my front, including radiator. Now, my insurance is more than my monthly payment for the Volt.

After doing research, I found that others are experiencing the same problem. I would like to get a re-adjustment to my insurance premium because, if there is a braking/traction control problem with the Volt, I should not be penalized for being negligent. According to a website, some of the 2012 Volts will be Re-called for this problem if manufactured between March 1 and April 17, 2012. I'm not sure of the significance of those specific dates.

Out of the millions of Volt threads I have read across the internet and owning my own Volt for a year and a half (16,000 miles) this is the first I have heard of a Brake problem let alone a recall
