Default Trouble in paradise?

Yes, there will be trouble. Unless you live in Chili, Bolivia or Argentina. It appears to be that 70% of the worlds reserve of lithium is situated in those countries. Unless we find some other way to power our electric vehicles in the near future, those 3 countries are gonna charge the world (what's in a name) big time for their lithium.

It almost sounds like a Commodore 64 game from the '80's: Lithium Wars.
Well, without Chili, Bolivia or Argentina the only way we can get the Volt to move is by imitating Fred and Barney...

Time to look for alternatives. I am confident that there will be alternative powercells in the near future, because happy as we might be with lithium ion cells, it is still far far away from an ideal situation.

I saw an article somewhere, too bad I don't remember where, about airtanks that could be filled up with compressed air. An airnozzle made a flywheel spin and a perfect tranny did the rest. Too good to be true? Who knows?

I remember seeing that too, not sure on the net or TV.. but it seemed fairly loud from what I remember.

Haha, yeah, imagine driving around hissing like Darth Vader all day. To complete it, I would like my car to greet me every morning with a deep voice "Welcome to the dark side..." LOL
