Here are some leaked pictures of the 2011 model. Why couldn't they keep closer to the concept? I miss the bold and agressive styling elements.
It looks small and high, nonetheless a nice car, but not sporty looking...

The exterior has already been through one redesigned to cut air resistance by 30%. That had to make some significant changes to get that number.

Okay, cutting air resistance is good, but the original looked sleek enough to carve the wind. It seems to me that the car brands working on electrich vehicles for the masses are a bit cautious in their design. Maybe they don't want to give us false hope by not creating a gap between looks and performance? There are some examples of sheer electrical power combined with mean looks, the Valmet Fisker Karma for instance...

I will post a movie of that one in "off topic discussion"

I totally agree. The actual car isn't too bad, but I would have loved to see the concept become more of a reality..inside and out.

Just like someone else said in another post, I looks a lot like the civic in that shape. The concept stylings I hope will come back, it looked very aggressive and I think there is still a niche for cars that look like the Volt concept looks. The sportier it looks the more chance of getting young folk to look at it and maybe even buy it. Gotta get the young buying - so you'll have future customers hehe!

Yeah the changes made from the concept to showroom are definitely of note. I've sorted through the different models and the charcoal-black Volt hatchback is more my speed.

Rarely will the concept vehicles make it to market, alot to do with safety issues with NTSB....and of course the cost...

Fortunately for GM, the new Camaro is one of those exceptions.
