snakevp56 - Congratulations on your Volt. I've had my 2012 Volt since Sept. "11. I have to fully charge my Volt every day and I use a 240V charger. I highly recommend a 240V charger. Not only can it fully charge your Volt in 3 1/2 to 4 hours but may be more importantly you get more EV miles from partial charges. This comes in very handy for running weekend errends.

We purchased our 240V charger from Home Depot. I installed it myself so save some bucks.

One thing I failed to mention and that is we had to mail order the unit from Home Depot. Our local stores did not have it in stock.

Just got a brand new 220v charger, it is by Nissan, a friend of a friend had a brand new one in the box for $500.00 so I jumped on it, the dealer said $1,500 for a GM charger.
My first charge at 110v took 10 hours now I can complete in less than 4 hours, in Calif. non prime time is 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM so I set up to charge while i'm sleeping. haven't got my first SCE bill yet but will keep you guys advised.
