Has anyone else had a problem with the short plug cord to the charging unit?
I have an exterior remote plug that sits on a mailbox post. The plug is 4 inches
out from the post. The plug cord does not allow me to reach back to the post
to hang the charging unit. GM should not have assumed that all people install
the charging unit in on a flat garage wall.

The short wall side chord on the charging unit is absolute ridiculous. It makes it impossible to install on the front wall of my carport. Worse yet, the unit seems to be sealed making it next to impossible to install a longer chord. Also I don't really care for the way the other side of the chord plugs into the left side of the car and protrudes a significant amount. I like the Leaf better where the charging cord is plugged into the nose of the car. I'm having to use an extra 25 foot 12 gauge extension cord at the moment. Eventually I will cut that cord down to 8 feet or so, GM should have put at least and 8 foot cord on the wall side of the charger, You could always make it shorter, but because of the charging unit being more or less completely sealed, it makes correcting the problem both difficult and sub-standard. Personally I would like to have seen the charging unit inside the engine compartment. The only thing extending from the car would be the chord which you should be able to vary in length for your particular circumstances. Also, I think the chord should have been in some way adaptable to both a 120 and 240 v circuit inasmuch as the 220-240 volt charging stations costs at a minimum over $500.00, only requires a 20 amp breaker, yet has another big clunky external bowling ball device which is external to the vehicle. At least on the one I ordered you can add your own cord of the proper size and length for your particular installation.
